Event Descriptions
New Postdoc Orientation (Virtual)
When: September 21, 12 - 1:30 pm
Orientation for postdocs that are new to Western will be held on Monday 21st September. Contact Mihaela Harmos (mharmos@uwo.ca) if you think you should be attending this session.
Virtual Yoga Class (Virtual)
When: September 23, 11 am
Please join Cassie on Wednesday September 23rd at 11 am for a 30-minute complimentary yoga class. You will be led through Vinyasa Yoga, which is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. This type of exercise is appropriate for everyone as it can be modified to suit your body’s needs and abilities. Take advantage of this class to energize your mind, body, and spirit. Preparing for the Non–Academic Job Market: an interactive panel for postdocs (Virtual)
When: September 24, 12 pm
Join us for an interactive discussion on developing and applying your job search strategies. Three postdoctoral scholars, who recently secured non-academic positions, and Western's Director of Talent Acquisition will discuss characteristics of effective job search strategies and share their own experiences. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn how some job search strategies can be applied across a variety of disciplines. Virtual Trivia (Virtual)
When: September 24, 6 pm
Join us for a night of questions and fun as PAW does its first ever online trivia night! Stephen will be quizmaster for this so please contact him at stuffs@uwo.ca if you would like to take part. If you want to sign up with others as part of team let us know! But don’t worry if you can’t get enough people together, we will also be making up teams on the night as well. Prizes will be announced on the night.
PAW AGM and Executive Meeting (Virtual)
When: September 25, 12 pm
We will be holding our annual general meeting of the 25th September at 12 noon. This year we will be holding an election to appoint our new Executive Position (Vice-President, Equity, Diversity and Equality).
