Postdoctoral Competitive Edge Program

The Postdoctoral Competitive Edge Program provides Western Postdoctoral Scholars with opportunities that allow them to develop a competitive advantage by strengthening their CVs and maximizing their opportunities within the global job market. The objectives of the program include providing extensive mentorhip opportunutites and several tools to help Postdoctoral Scholars advance both the academic and non-academic skills.


Individual Development Plan

The Individual Development Plan (IDP) is a tool created by Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) that supports Postdoctoral Scholars in actively preparing for the career(s) of their choice by exploring career paths, establishing career goals, and identifying skill gaps, culminating in an action plan to achieve their career goal(s). The IDP also serve as a communication tool between trainees and mentors regarding the training outcomes and expectations of both parties.


Centre for Teaching and Learning

The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) supports Western University instructors and Postdoctoral Scholars in creating high quality student-centred learning experiences through orientation, training, mentorship, research, and innovation opportunities.
